Graduate Level Examination, 2015 will be held on 9th August 2015
& 16th August 2015(additional batches may also be held).
The
Estimates Committee of the Parliament, in 1967-68, recommended the setting up
of a Service Selection Commission for conducting examinations for recruitment
to lower categories of posts. The Subordinate Services Commission was setup on 4th
November, 1975 and this was renamed the Staff Selection Commission on 26th
September, 1977. This commission is responsible for the recruitment of
personnel to various Group B & C (non-technical) posts in the various
Ministries/Departments of the Govt. of India and in Subordinate Offices.

This
Exam is a three tier exam, where
Tier 1 exam is attempted by all the candidates. This 200 marks exam needs to be
completed in 2 hours.
The
Tier I exam is made up of four sections each carrying 50 questions worth 50
marks. These exams are conducted in English and Hindi. The sections that you
need to master are General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness,
Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
General Intelligence and Reasoning:
This
section includes topics like decision making, visual memory, discrimination, direction
sense test, blood relations, Input-Output questions, seating arrangement,
questions based on dies, clock, Space Visualization, Venn Diagrams, etc.
General Awareness:
This
section includes questions on Current events, India and its neighboring
countries, History, Geography, Economic Scene, Culture, General Policy &
Scientific Research are asked. Scientific questions on physics, chemistry and
Biology are also asked. Current affairs of the last six months are regularly
asked.

Quantitative Aptitude:
In
this section the most often topics are Ratio & Proportion, Square and cube
root, Surds and indices, LCM and HCF, Averages, Age problems, Simple interest
and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, Partnership, Mixture and Allegation,
Time and distance, Time & Work, Boat and Streams, Triangle, Quadrilaterals,
Regular Polygons, etc.
English Comprehension:
Questions
on Fill in the Blanks, Idioms & Phrases, Jumbled sentences (ordering), one
word substitution, Synonyms, Antonyms, Common errors, etc. These could be based
on passages.


Joint Seat Allocation Authority JOSAA organises a total of seven rounds seat allotment and counselling procedure. Candidates who will qualify JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advance 2019 shall only be able to participate in the counselling. The schedule of joSAA Counselling 2019 will release once the examination process completes successfully.
